Why HQ Baseline
The concussion baseline, the way it should have shipped.
Clinician-grade methodology, athlete-grade usability. No computer lab, no clipboard, no bottleneck.
Voice-scored recall
Real-time speech recognition captures immediate and delayed word recall. No clinician required — athletes test themselves with clear voice prompts.
Motion-capture balance
The phone's accelerometer and gyroscope score mBESS and tandem gait objectively. No harness, no computer lab.
Full 7-module battery
Orientation, immediate memory, concentration, balance, tandem gait, delayed recall, and simple reaction — the full concussion assessment battery, objectively scored.
One link. One team.
Share a single baseline link and onboard hundreds of athletes in one afternoon. Auto-intake handles rosters, languages, and communication preferences.
Subtype-aware comparison
When an injury happens, we compare post-injury PCSS results to each athlete's personal baseline across cognitive, vestibular, ocular, and cervical subtypes.
HIPAA-ready by default
Role-based access, audit logs, data encryption in transit and at rest, and BAAs for covered entities. Built for compliance, not bolted on.
How it works
One link. Fifteen minutes. Done.
- 1
Share one link
Your athletic trainer sends a single baseline link to the team. No accounts to create, no passwords to reset.
- 2
Athletes self-test
Each athlete completes the 7-module battery on their own phone in about 15 minutes. Voice and motion handle the scoring.
- 3
Compare after injury
If a concussion happens, post-injury results are compared to that athlete's personal baseline — automatically, with subtype-aware radars.
Proof
What trainers tell us in the first week.
“We baseline our entire high school in an afternoon. What used to take four evenings of paper SCAT5 now runs itself — and we finally have comparable data for return-to-play calls.”
“The motion scoring is the difference. I don't have to eyeball mBESS errors anymore. The data is objective and the parents trust it.”
“I can baseline a traveling team from a hotel lobby. That's not an exaggeration — remote baselines are the feature I didn't know I needed.”

Frequently asked questions
Answers to the questions every athletic trainer, school administrator, and parent asks before rolling out Baselines by Headquarters.
What does it cost?
How does baseline day actually work?
You have three ways to run baselines:
- Whole team at practice: Display a QR code on a projector or big screen. Athletes spread out on the field with their phones, scan to sign up, and finish the full battery in about 15 minutes — in parallel, while you run practice or watch completion from the sideline.
- One athlete at a time: Sit with each athlete in the training room and administer the baseline yourself — counting mBESS errors and scoring modules the way your program already does.
- At home: Email or text a baseline link. Athletes complete all seven modules on their own phone, on their own schedule — before season, over the weekend, or between practices. You track who's done from your dashboard.
